We are a member-owned and controlled financial cooperative
which promotes financial responsibility , membership involvement
and dedicated to serving and educating our members, while maintaining
the credit union's long-term financial stability.
One of the many characteristics
that distinguish credit unions from other financial institutions
begins with the Volunteer Board of Directors. These individuals
serve without compensation and devote countless hours to the
welfare of the Credit Union.
Some of the duties of the Board include long-range planning;
policy review; budget decisions and consideration of the new
programs, rates and facilities. The position requires a dedication
to protect the best interest of the Credit Union.
The Supervisory Committee monitors the Credit
Union's operations and procedures in an oversight capacity
on behalf of the members. Committee members are responsible
for initiating an annual audit of the Credit Union records,
conducting annual member account verifications and proving
an ongoing review of closed accounts. All of this is done to
ensure soundness of all members' deposits.
USCU is always looking for new volunteers to serve on our
Board of Directors, Supervisory Committee or our Credit Committee.
